How do I share my Wish for It gift list with people I know?

By sharing the unique URL assigned to your wish list, friends and family can view and contribute towards gifts on your list. Your url can be shared via email, by uploading it to your Facebook or twitter feeds.

What does this cost?

There is no cost to create an account and wish list on Wish for It. Once wish list is closed, Wish for It takes a 5% fee of the total funds raised as an administration fee. This includes all bank charges and VAT.

What if I want to add/delete items on my gift?

You can remove any gift that has not yet been contributed. Once your friends/family have contributed to your gifts, you may not delete them.

How will I know when someone has given me a contribution?

You will be notified via email every time somebody contributes to one of your gifts listed on your wish list.

How and when do I receive the money that has been contributed towards items on my gift list?

You will be paid the value of the funds collected on Wish for It less all relevant deductions (view T&C's) within fifteen (15) working days of your wish list closing date.

How will I be able to keep track of who has given me what?

Simply log in, and click on the 'View Stats' link in the 'My Wish Lists' section of the site.

What if the person giving the gift does not want to disclose how much has been contributed?

The names of Givers to your Gifts will be viewable only to you, and will not be publically viewable.

What if only a portion of the total gift cost is raised?

You will be paid all of the funds collected towards your gifts listed on your wish list, subject to relevant deductions as stipulated in our Terms and Conditions.

Can I keep the wish list a few days after the wish list closes in case some guests want to give gifts last minute?

Your wish list will be automatically kept open for ten (10) days after your wish list close date to allow for this.

What if my wish list is cancelled?

If your wish list is cancelled for whatever reason and you have already raised money towards your wish list using Wish for It, we will pay you the money raised up until that point. We do not reimburse Givers on our site. Should you wish to do so, you will need to make the reimbursements yourself.

Will my wish list be viewable to the public?

You can choose to keep your wish list private by protecting it with a password that you give to your friends/family.

Can friends/family based outside of South Africa contribute to my wish list even if they have international credit cards?

All valid credit cards are accepted for payment on our site.
